Mild weather before the snow storm this week produced reports of the
first calling AMERICAN WOODCOCKS with three in Dighton and another in
Marshfield.

At Wenham Lake in Wenham, a PINK-FOOTED GOOSE was observed with a
flock of CANADA GEESE on Tuesday, and another PINK-FOOTED GOOSE
continues to be observed in the fields off Argilla Road in Ipswich.

At Horn Pond and vicinity in Woburn there were 2 NORTHERN PINTAILS, a
RED-THROATED LOON, the continued presence of an OVENBIRD, and a FOX
SPARROW.

At Cathedral Ledge in Rockport there was a report of a PACIFIC LOON,
226 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, 2 DOVEKIES,
4 COMMON MURRES, a THICK-BILLED MURRE, and 118 RAZORBILLS.

Noted at Deer Island in Boston Harbor were 2 BARROW'S GOLDENEYES and 7
ICELAND GULLS, and at Point Allerton in Hull a PACIFIC LOON and 2 more
BARROW'S GOLDENEYES were observed.

Reported from the Cumberland Farms fields in Middleboro were 2
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, a WILSON'S SNIPE, an AMERICAN KESTREL, 50 HORNED
LARKS, and 8 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS.

Miscellaneous reports included 2 GADWALLS in Clinton; a NORTHERN
SHOVELER at Hager Pond in Marlboro; a REDHEAD at Hardy Pond in
Waltham; 17 BLACK VULTURES in Blackstone; 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS at
Ellisville Harbor in Plymouth; 2 WHITE-WINGED DOVES continuing to be
seen in the vicinity of the Boston Fenway Victory Garden; a
SHORT-EARED OWL in Revere; 5 AMERICAN PIPITS and 23 LAPLAND LONGSPURS
at the Spencer Little Farm in Newbury; a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT in
Nahant; a WESTERN TANAGER in Haverhill; and 21 RED CROSSBILLS at
Salisbury.
