This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for Thursday=2C November 5.=20

A PRAIRIE FALCON was seen flying over Calabasas on November 1.
=20
A NORTHERN =93YELLOW-SHAFTED=94 FLICKER was at Mountain View Cemetery in Al=
tadena on October 31.

A LEWIS=92S WOODPECKER was seen in San Gabriel at the intersection of Longd=
en and Del Mar Ave. on November 5.  It was last seen on a telephone pole be=
hind 520 Del Mar Ave.

HAIRY WOODPECKERS were at Veteran=92s Park in Sylmar on November 3 and at J=
uan Bautista de Anza Park in Calabases on November 1.

A TROPICAL KINGBIRD was in Culver City on November 5.  It was fisrt seen ne=
ar the north end of Lindberg Park=2C but was moving through the area in com=
pany with Cassin=92s Kingbirds.

Continuing at Lacy Park in San Marino was a GRAY FLYCATCHER=2C seen through=
 November 3.  Also at the park was a presumed HOODED ORIOLE (although Orcha=
rd Oriole could not be ruled out) and a HERMIT WARBLER.

A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Neff Park in La Mirada on October 31.  It =
was seen south of the barn.

At the Huntington Gardens in San Marino a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was seen on =
October 31.  It was seen near the south border of the gardens behind the re=
strooms.  Another CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was at Valhalla Cemetery in Burbank =
on November 4.  This bird was near a red brick building along the north edg=
e.

A ZONE-TAILED HAWK was over Filmore on October 30. =20

Three LEWIS=92S WOODPECKERS were reported along Canada Larga Road at mile t=
hree in walnut trees on November 3.  Four more were in sycamores on Santa A=
na Road=2C about .6 mile north of Highway 150 near Filmore on October 31.
